EL RIO GRANT HEALTH CLINIC

The El Rio Grant Health Clinic was a major tenant improvement project; transforming a former bank into a medical facility that includes dental, pharmacy, family practice, behavioral health, midwifery, OB/GYN, lab, radiology, classrooms, offices, and administrative space was exactly the kind of challenge the Lloyd Construction team thrives on. Lloyd enjoys repurposing and re-imagining a structure with good bones to better serve our community. Now this 33,140 square foot outpatient medical clinic is open and serving families and patients in the midtown Tucson area. The El Rio Grant project was delivered via the construction manager at risk (CMAR) method. The scope included structural steel, concrete, roofing, painting, millwork, woodwork and finishes, glass, doors, windows, drywall, flooring, tile work, hardware, plumbing, mechanical and electrical work. Lloyd was able to deliver the project in 22 months with all desired amenities, and brought the project in below the original budget, thanks to meticulous oversight, a great team, and a strong belief in El Rio Health’s mission.

EL RIO SOUTHEAST II HEALTH CLINIC

This project began with demolition of 3,900 sf of the existing 14,000 sf clinic. We completed a two-story, 36,000 sf expansion in July 2019. Operations were then moved to the new space to allow us to renovate the 11-year-old existing clinic space. The clinic contains spaces for radiology, pharmacy, laboratory, and community programs. The building features a centralized entry ensuring the reception station has visual supervision of all public circulation routes. The facility incorporates integrated care modules for pediatrics and family medicine, OBGYN, Dental and Behavioral Health. The Dental Health Program includes four dental exam (operatory) rooms, a dental lab, a reception area, nursing station, sterilization room, open office area, a panoramic x-ray station and dental gas bottle storage.

TMC MOTHER-BABY EXPANSION & REMODEL

The Mother/Baby renovation included conversion of 47 patient rooms; addition of two isolation rooms; renovation of all restrooms; replacement of all finishes/ hardware, and replacement of all HVAC registers, fire sprinklers, plumbing fixtures, and light fixtures. The Mother/Baby expansion included 12 new patient rooms; a new nurses station; medical room; and courtyards. The Pediatric renovation included renovation of 23 patient rooms; restrooms; replacement of three medical gas zone valves; replacement of all finishes, doors, hardware, and window treatments; replacement of all HVAC registers, fire sprinklers, plumbing fixtures, and light fixtures. The Pediatric Expansion included the addition of 21 new patient rooms; a bariatric patient room; a new nurses station; a main entry and lobby; a pharmacy; a teen room, family room, library, play room and a courtyard with child-friendly landscaping.

TMC CATH-LAB 7

Within the heart of the fully functional Tucson Medical Center hospital we turned a gym area into a Hybrid Catheterization Lab. The renovation area was 4,089 SF. This Hybrid Catheterization Lab combines the traditional diagnostic functions of a cath lab with the surgical functions of an operating room. Around the cath lab we constructed a nurse’s station, dictation area, wheel chair/stretcher alcove, clean supply room, clean storage room, and the bed storage room.

COPPER QUEEN HOSPITAL & FREE STANDING EMERGENCY

At Copper Queen Hospital we increased the clinic’s footprint from 8,460 to 16,460 SF. The new addition houses the radiology department, cardiology department, six exam rooms, doctors offices, nurses station, a laboratory and mammography. We also added a new 5,600 SF steel stud/masonry building for the physical therapy department. Other healthcare offerings added include a quick care facility for non-appointment visits, enhanced and expanded diagnostics (radiology & laboratory), and th addition of a CT Scanner.

After the success of our expansion project at Copper Queen Community Hospital, Lloyd was selected as the Construction Manager at Risk for Copper Queen’s 10,000 SF Freestanding Emergency Department. During the design development phase, the Lloyd team was able to target value design, in several areas, saving the owner $1 million.
