Tucson Botanical Gardens 2015

For this project, the building was designed with a variety of materials including clay adobe, stone cladding, and architectural features made from metal, glass and lighting, 50% of these finishes were designed and created by local artists.

The working goal was to preserve the Gardens’ rich heritage while enhancing it with a new entrance into the Gardens, handicap- accessible restrooms, a new gift shop and admissions, a new gallery featuring rotating exhibits, a community meeting room – all surrounded by covered porches, bricked paths, beautifully designed landscape and an enclosed pavilion courtyard.
