University Residence Life Renewal

Partnering as a Construction Manager at Risk with the University of Arizona and the A/E firm, Lloyd Construction completed phased renovations of nine University of Arizona dormitories.

During each 75-day summer break, we completed interior infrastructure upgrades totaling approximately $40 million. In order to be prepared to complete this much work during 75-day summer breaks, Lloyd Construction partnered closely with the A/E firm during the year prior to the each phase. This allowed for us to determine the most efficient means of construction, and to verify existing plumbing, electrical, HVAC and structural conditions. This meant that we were fully prepared to begin construction immediately once the residence halls were vacated each summer.
